17: How do you handle your life as superstars now?
– Jaebeom: Actually, our life now is not much different from our life before. In the past, we practiced, practiced, and spent the day practicing. Now, we still practice all day but we just have to go dress up and have our make-up done for media and TV programs.
– Nichkhun: We have more fans.
– Taecyeon: We still live the way we used to live, nothing changed. (Even your personal life?) We didn’t have personal life back then (laughs). We just practiced like Jaebeom said.
17: How many hours a day do you practice? How many hours do you work? We heard that you work so hard. How hard can that be?
– Jaebeom: Normally our schedule is really tight, and we get to practicing after we finish all the scheduled events, which is usually late at night, around midnight. We practice for about 2-3 hours and knock off at around 3am or 4am in the morning.
– Taecyeon: If we have special choreographing like acrobatics, it takes more time to practice.
17: So how do you find time to rest?
– Nichkhun: We rarely have time to sleep, so we try to keep ourselves fit by eating ginseng and stuff for our health. We have a lot of works that we have to be responsible for.
17: There are too many boy bands from Korea at the moment, what is 2PM’s weapon to get popularity?
– Jaebeom: First of all, when we are on stage, our performance is unique. You can feel the power coming out of us.
– Nichkhun: We are natural. We don’t try to be cool or cute. What you see on the screen is what we really are.
– Taecyeon: We never pretend. Like putting stockings on our heads, making people laugh. That’s 2PM. If we are like this, everybody will feel like they are closer to us.
17: What is your goal as 2PM?
– Jaebeom: Being the best in Korea, in Asia and in the world. We try to be better and better.
– Chansung: I want to be the person who excels in both dancing and singing.
– Taecyeon: To be the best singer is one of my goals.
– Junsu: I want to be a good singer and composer.
– Junho: I want to be a good singer and actor. I’m now learning how to compose songs as well so I hope to have the song that I write in my album. I would be so happy.
– Wooyoung: I want 2PM to be Number 1!
– Nichkhun: To me, to be successful is to be happy in what you are doing. Whether it is dancing or singing, just do your best as if you are the best in them and do everything happily…
17: And what is your ultimate goal of life?
– Jaebeom: To do everything as best as I can, to make my family proud and to be a good leader. (Taecyeon shakes his head, it’s not true…)
17: What do you do as a good leader?
– Jaebeom: I do nothing. (All members laugh, Taecyeon nods his head to confirm his statement) I try to take care of my members and be a role model for them. (Do you order them to do things?) When practicing, I give orders to them like “Wooyoung pass me that bottle of water,” but he never seems to listen to me (All laugh).
17: Back to the question about your lifes’ ultimate goal, each of you.
– Chansung: I want to be a great singer and actor just like my idol, Jamie Fox.
– Taecyeon: I want to have a happy family, to be a good father. But my goal is quite far away to achieve now.
– Junsu: I want to have a career in the music industry, as a producer making good albums for myself and for others.
– Junho: I want to be a role model for some actors or singers. I want to be someone’s inspiration who thinks that he/she wants to be like “Lee Junho”.
– Wooyoung: I love dancing so I would like to keep showing up on the stage and working in the music industry.
– Nichkhun: My answer is like Taecyeon’s; I want to become a good father, and a good husband in the future.
17: We only see you dance and sing. Other than those, what other talents do you have? Or what else do you like to do?
– Jaebeom: I can draw. My hobby is drawing comics’ characters like ‘Spiderman’ or ‘X-men’. (Other members mock him that sketching and drawing is not the same which makes another round of laughter.) I also love playing basketball and computer games with the members.
– Chansung: I know Taekwando and Kendo.
– Taecyeon: I like drawing and I’m good at Wakeboarding. (Nichkhun says ‘No’ to this remark, then Taecyeon returns, “I’m pretty good at it,” and the two dispute for awhile before Jaebeom interrupts and says that Taecyeon is good at skiing and cooking.)
– Junsu: I’m good at observing, for instance I can spot the difference between two similar photos more than others.
– Junho: I’m interested in fashion and I have sketched some of fashion designs. Maybe one day when I show them to the members, they might be in awe. (Everyone makes an expression as if they really believe Junho, which make another round of laughter.)
– Wooyoung: I like playing basketball and football.
– Nichkhun: I can play the piano and I used to be a badminton player.
17: Is the NO Girlfriend rule true?
– Nichkhun: It’s not like a rule or order but it’s more like that our fans can’t take it. We feel like we don’t want to hurt them or disappoint them. And most importantly, we don’t have time to find one.
17: Is it true like they said that Korean Boy Band artists are difficult to approach to and they are untouchable?
– Jaebeom: It’s the level of relationship between artists and their fans. If the fans cross the line, we artists can’t live our normal life. For example; if they follow us too often or too close, we can’t go to the company or anywhere else. I think both artists and fans need to respect each other boundaries.
– Nichkhun: It’s not that we are untouchable. The company people also worry about their artists’ safety. Most of our fans are still young and they may thrust themselves to us when they see us. So they are concern about this and have to bar those fans from us. This may make others see us boybands as untouchable or angel-like stars. But it’s all about safety that they are concern about.
17: Are you able to go out buying things by yourself?
– Jaebeom: We can do it in Korea but in Thailand, it’s really difficult.
17: What were you doing when you were 17 years old?
– Jaebeom: I was in high school and started to get serious in dancing. I was like other teenagers, playing basketball and stuff.
– Chansung: I was an athlete, I played Taekwondo and Kendo.
– Taecyeon: I was studying SAT in USA.
– Junsu: It was the time I started my music interest.
– Junho: I was a trainee in JYP so I didn’t get to spend time with my friends at school.
– Wooyoung: I really enjoyed dancing; I went to school in the morning and went straight to practice dancing right after I finished school in the evening. Sometimes I was in dancing battles with friends.
– Nichkhun: I was still in USA. I was playing badminton and piano. At the time, I was thinking of furthering my study in music but then I was picked to be with JYP first so I’m now with 2PM.
